Position Title: Senior Network Engineer
Job Description: Design, install and configure local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN) and wireless (Wi-Fi) systems as per project requirements.
Monitor networks to ensure availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.
Plan and deliver full technical life-cycle service including design (HLD, LLD), implementation (NIP), and optimization (NRFU) of large-scale service providers & enterprise.
Integrate various network segments to work in conjunction with each other as per the industry standard and architectures (Zachman, SABSA, TOGAF, PCI DSS, BYOD).
Configure network management systems to gather real-time location and statistics of end clients. Upgrade LAN, WAN (SDWAN, DMVPN, GETVPN, MPLS) and Wi-Fi systems for optimal performance and administrate for security.
Analyze and resolve technical problems for (layer-2 and Layer-3 [BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP]) established networks.
Use expert level infrastructure design knowledge.
Conduct technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility, cost, the time required, and compatibility with current systems.
Mentor the junior team members, and the ability to present the solution to the executive level.
The Supervisor for this position is Vice President, Technology.
The position will supervise 3 people. The three employees the position will supervise/mentor are “Network Engineers” and these are entry-level professional positions.
Job Requirements: Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, information systems, information technology, computer engineering, electronics engineering, or communication engineering. 24 months of experience in Network Engineering or related field. In lieu of Master’s +2 years’ experience, an employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of post-bachelor progressive experience in job offered or in a related field. Must possess CISCO certified Internetwork expert routing and switching (CCIE Routing and Switching) certification. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
Work Location: Sterling, VA & other unanticipated client locations in the US. May require relocations.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
Hours: 9 AM to 6 PM
